Cooperative Ltd.
Tamara Co-operative Limited (Registration No. 0014) was registered in the Northern Territory on 12 September 2013 under the Co-operatives (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2015 (NT). A non-trading cooperative limited by shares, it operates in the MacDonnell Region of Central Australia.
Our Purpose
The primary activity of the co-operative is the provision and management of land for the benefit of its members. TAMARA exists to serve its membership — ensuring land is managed responsibly, equitably, and in accordance with the cooperative principles that guide our governance.
Cooperative Principles
As a registered co-operative, TAMARA is guided by the internationally recognised co-operative principles: voluntary and open membership, democratic member control, member economic participation, autonomy and independence, education and training, cooperation among co-operatives, and concern for community.
Governance
TAMARA Cooperative Ltd. is governed by a Board of Directors elected by and accountable to its members. The cooperative operates transparently and in accordance with its registered rules and the Co-operatives National Law as applied in the Northern Territory.
